Fed: Wool prices climb to highest level since 1990

CANBERRA, Jan 18 AAP - Australian wool prices have climbed to their highest levelssince the halcyon days of 1990 on the back of a world wool shortage.
Prices this week climbed 7.1 per cent to 894 cents a kilogram.
It follows an 11.8 per cent increase the previous week.
Wool prices have now climbed 29 per cent since the end of November at a time when manyin the industry believed the market would remain calm because of the bleak world economicoutlook.
